Words from Artists & Visitors

Reflections from workshop participants, resident artists, and gallery visitors.

The wood carving workshop at L.M. Nabulime Foundation completely transformed how I see material and form. Dr. Nabulime's guidance pushed me to think beyond technique and into the deeper meaning of what I was making. I left with skills I still use every day.

Samuel Oryem

Workshop Participant, Kampala

My residency in Kyanja gave me the focused time and space I had been searching for. Working alongside local artists and learning directly from Dr. Nabulime brought an entirely new dimension to my sculptural practice. The gardens, the studio, the community — it all feeds the work.

Visiting the Lisha Gallery was a genuine surprise. The breadth of work on display — from Dr. Nabulime's sculptures to international collaborations — shows just how powerful wood carving can be as a form of social commentary and cultural preservation.
